A five-time racing champion is betrayed when her fiancé steals her race and her bike to hand them to a rookie. Stripped of her ride, she sets out to fight her way back to the top and reclaim what was taken from her.
The engines were warming up before the grand rally. When my fiancé, Sebastian Locke, stepped in front of me on the grid. Nora, there's been a change. Lena is starting today.
You'll ride behind her and block the wind. I froze. Sebastian knew. This was my last race before I retired and got married.
It was also my shot at a sixth straight title. The one that would make me the top female racer in the world. Six years ago, his team was months from folding. I was the one who won championship after championship.
Now they wanted me to clear the road for a rookie who just barely finished her training laps. This is my race. I'm not moving over.
Lena needs this win. You already have five titles. One more won't matter. Nora, this is the team's decision.
You know what happens if you refuse. You'll fire me? And behind him, my whole crew, the same people who'd stood on five podiums with me, silent.
Not one of them looked up. That was when it hit me. This wasn't about Lena needing a win. They just didn't need me anymore.
I unpinned the team badge from my chest. I twisted the engagement ring off my finger, dropped them both into Sebastian's hand. Fine, then I don't want the team, and I don't want you.
I turned toward my bike. Lena was already sitting on it in a brand new race suit. Nora, I'm so sorry. Sebastian said starting today, this bike is mine.
